Description

The Indigenous Wellness Coordinator (IWC) provides leadership in fostering Indigenous student wellness through culturally grounded programs, initiatives, and community connections. Reporting to the Manager, Indigenous Student Empowerment, the IWC ensures Indigenous students have access to holistic wellness supports rooted in Indigenous knowledge systems.

This position plays a key role in the University of Northern British Columbia’s (ÂÜÀòÉäÇø) ongoing efforts to support Indigenous student success, self-determination, and well-being. The IWC will deliver culturally informed programming, including land-based healing, traditional medicine teachings, and workshops on trauma-informed practice, while supporting students through direct care, referral pathways, and advocacy. Working collaboratively with the Indigenous Cultural Coordinator and other student support services, the IWC contributes to an inclusive, culturally safe university environment and helps advance ÂÜÀòÉäÇø’s decolonization and Indigenization goals.
