A recent Career Paths in Health Research seminar brought together several ÂÜÀòÉäÇø graduates who highlighted their health research careers as part of a panel discussion with health education students.

Guided by a deep commitment to northern British Columbia, Shirley Bond’s groundbreaking political career and tireless advocacy have shaped vital investments in education, healthcare and infrastructure — building stronger communities across the region she calls home.

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø Faculty of Environment Assistant Professor Dr. Sinead Earley and colleagues at the University of Victoria are leading transformative clean energy research through the Northern Regional Energy Dialogues (NRED). The five-year project expands on Earley's previous work to amplify northern voices and aims to strengthen community resilience, support community energy systems and enhance long-term economic stability throughout the region.

A partnership between ÂÜÀòÉäÇø and the Sahtú Land and Water Board is supporting oilfield reclamation guided by Sahtú Dene knowledge. ÂÜÀòÉäÇø alumna Annie King is playing a key role in the research through her work in community engagement.

Fourth-year nursing student Ankur Patel is working to integrate sustainability into healthcare education. Through research, advocacy and national policy discussions, he is driving change at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø and beyond.

The Associate Professor in ÂÜÀòÉäÇø's School of Nursing is the recipient of a King Charles III's Coronation Medal for her impactful research and advocacy in the fields of aging and hospice palliative care in rural and northern communities.

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø brings together students, faculty, researchers, entrepreneurs and community organizations to foster innovation, build connections and lead the way on sustainable economic growth across the region.
