Description

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø (ÂÜÀòÉäÇø) invites applications for a Probationary position in the School of Nursing at the rank of Senior Instructor at our Northwest Campus (Terrace), with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. ÂÜÀòÉäÇø provides broad support for faculty to develop their teaching capabilities and areas of research/clinical interest, a strong mandate for growth, and a distinctive quality of life in northern British Columbia. Nursing education at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø includes the Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program (NBNP) in Fort St. John and Prince George offered over 5 consecutive semesters, a collaborative 4-year Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program (NCBNP) offered in conjunction with the College of New Caledonia (Prince George and Quesnel) and Coast Mountain College in Terrace, an MScN degree with thesis and project options, an MScN (Family Nurse Practitioner) degree, and a Certificate in Rural Nursing. 

The Senior Instructor position is weighted toward teaching; the successful candidate will teach theory, lab, and clinical courses in areas in which they hold subject-matter and/or clinical expertise, working in collaboration with other faculty as required. This position contributes to curriculum, course development, classroom and lab evidence-informed teaching, and student assessment across the upper division courses of the NCBNP. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach in multiple modalities (in-person, online, and hybrid course delivery are all used by the School of Nursing) to develop and maintain up-todate teaching pedagogies and may be involved in organizing practica in partnership with clinical placement teams. 

The Senior Instructor is expected to engage in continuing professional development and scholarly activities, along with service to the University, community, and profession.
