Steve Cao, Senior Program Manager, leads a team involved with Capacity Products at BC Hydro.

Steve joined BC Hydro in 2004, with a year seconded to the 2010 Olympics, and has been working on V2X (Vehicle to everything) since 2018.

His team oversees Capacity Products such as Demand Response programs like Peak Saver, Demand Response for Business and Energy Storage Incentives.  The team also develops and delivers on other innovative products like non-wire solutions and virtual power plants.

The programs normally begin as pilots which falls into his team’s portfolio.  The pilots Steve is currently developing include Vehicle-to-Everything, energy storage, enhanced resilience, load shaping and digital twin studies.

The products and programs Steve’s team works on are for all customer types.
