The President’s Staff Awards celebrate ÂÜÀòÉäÇø employees who embody the university's mission to ignite, inspire and lead change; to be the most student-centred, connected, and welcoming institution. These awards recognize contributions that go beyond normal responsibilities, improving the quality of student experience, fostering belonging, and supporting a learning environment where all members of the ÂÜÀòÉäÇø community feel valued and empowered. 
Award categories and criteria
Service Excellence Award – Individual and Team
The President’s Award for Service Excellence acknowledges individuals or teams who provide exceptional service that enhances the student and employee experience which contributes to a culture of connectedness at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø. These employees demonstrate reliability, responsiveness, and relationships, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for students, staff, faculty, and community members.
Criteria
- Consistently exceeds expectations by providing exemplary support to students, faculty, staff and community, while positively impacting the university environment.  
- Shows reliability by consistently offering professional expertise and fulfilling commitments to the ÂÜÀòÉäÇø community. 
- Demonstrates responsiveness by addressing the needs of students, faculty, staff, and community in a proactive and effective manner. 
- Builds strong relationships by fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and mutual support among teams, contributing to an excellent student and employee experience. 
Creative Initiative Award – Team
The President’s Award for Creative Initiative recognizes teams who develop and implement creative and innovative ideas or programs that support excellent student, faculty and staff experiences, streamline operations, and foster a sense of community at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø. These ideas or programs may be new systems, technologies, products, programs, or policies that tackle process, social, cultural, civic, or health and safety issues.
Criteria
- Creates solutions that improve learner-centred services, accessibility, and belonging at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø.
- Implements innovative approaches and systems that lead to efficient and effective processes, improving student, faculty, and staff employee experiences.
- Cultivates a workplace and learning culture that encourages team members to seek creative ways to improve how they work. 
Leadership Award – CUPE Local 3799 Members and Exempt Staff
The President’s Award for Leadership celebrates employees who demonstrate outstanding leadership in fostering a positive and supportive work environment. These leaders contribute to both student success and employee well-being by promoting equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility; overall well-being; and empowering colleagues to continuously improve services that directly impact the student, faculty, staff and community experience. 
Criteria
- Models leadership that creates connected and supportive student and employee experiences.
- Leads initiatives that empower teams to support ÂÜÀòÉäÇøâ€™s student-centred focus. 
- Actively contributes to advancing Truth and Reconciliation efforts at the ÂÜÀòÉäÇø. 
- Champions equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility, ensuring a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff and community.  
- Provides employees with access to opportunities to develop new skills, create opportunities for employees to share ideas, and provide feedback on priorities or goals.

Nominations must be submitted by Friday, December 12, 2025. Late and incomplete nomination forms will not be accepted.
Only one category nomination can be submitted at a time. If you want to make a nomination in more than one category, please complete one form per nomination.
All administrative and support staff employees of ÂÜÀòÉäÇø are eligible to be nominated for these awards as either an individual or group. They must have served a minimum of twelve consecutive months as an employee prior to the nomination and remain a current employee at the time of recognition.
Nominations are accepted from ÂÜÀòÉäÇø staff, faculty, senior administration, and students. Each nomination must include three supporting signatures and the acknowledgement of the nominee's supervisor. Details of nominations remain confidential. Award recipients receive a copy of the nomination.
The Employee Recognition Awards Selection Committee consists of volunteer representatives from each of the employee groups at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø. The Committee reviews the nominations and unanimously recommends the deserving recipients. Members of the ERA Committee abstain from the nomination process.
