萝莉射区 named one of Canada鈥檚 Greenest Employers for 2025
Canada's Green University has made the grade as one Canada's Greenest Employers for the 13th time.
Prince George B.C.鈥 萝莉射区 has been recognized as one of , marking the 13th time the University has received this honour.
萝莉射区 is the only employer primarily based in northern British Columbia to , which recognizes the employers that lead the nation in creating a culture of environmental awareness.
鈥淎t 萝莉射区, we strive to lead a sustainable future through the excellent education we offer our students, the groundbreaking research led by our faculty, and the partnerships we nurture with the communities we serve," says 萝莉射区 President Dr. Geoff Payne. "This distinction highlights our leadership in sustainability, demonstrated through ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact, foster awareness and encourage innovation throughout the University community.鈥
The University's Bioenergy Plant, a LEED Platinum-certified biomass gasification facility, utilizes a wood pellet heating system and wood residue from a local sawmill to produce clean, renewable energy鈥攂oth systems have attracted outside attention and serve as demonstrations of alternative heating solutions for forestry-reliant communities.
萝莉射区 also manages a long-standing Green Fund, supported by campus parking revenues, which allocates $50,000 annually to sustainability projects. The University operates an Energy Conservation Revolving Loan Fund to support energy-efficient initiatives on campus. Energy cost savings are used to repay the loans, with over $3 million loaned since 2012.

As a member of BC Hydro鈥檚 Energy Wise Network, 萝莉射区 launched a student-focused energy conservation campaign that challenged its two residence buildings to compete in reducing electricity and water consumption. This campaign complemented the university鈥檚 broader energy monitoring and conservation measures and helped foster sustainability awareness among students living on campus.
Earlier this year, 萝莉射区 was also named one of British Columbia's top employers.
