Research and Expertise

My primary interest is in how forest birds respond to anthropogenic disturbance. My students and I have studied this in a number of different contexts, such how birds respond to habitat disturbance from forest harvesting, urbanization, forest gaps created by transmission corridors and wind energy development. We primarily look at how this affects behaviour, communication, breeding and movement patterns.
