Strategic Indigenization Priorities
- Engage and consult with Indigenous communities, students and faculty on indigenization
- Strategic planning and implementation of Indigenous initiatives
- Liaise with senior administration
- Develop and maintain the Indigenous Pathways and Partnerships (IPP) program
- Develop an Indigenous Action Plan that aligns with 蹤獲扞⑹s Strategic Road Map and IPP
- Develop meaningful, ongoing engagement with Indigenous communities
- Build long-term relationships that serve the needs of Indigenous communities and students
- Ensure Indigenous students receive the necessary support through our First Nations Centre
Indigenization Milestones
In recent years, the Office of Indigenous Initiatives (OII) has celebrated several important milestones. These include the Office of Indigenous Initiatives working with the University in consultation with Lheidli Tenneh Elders to rename The Fire Pit to 'Tseba'. Dakelh Elder and 蹤獲扞⑹ founding member Yvonne Pierreroy was awarded an honorary degree in recognition of her longstanding dedication to sharing knowledge that has profoundly shaped the University.
