Shining a light on the challenges of caregivers

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø PhD candidate Janet Ocloo was recognized with an International Doctoral Research Award from Universities Canada for her research which explores the challenges faced by caregivers of children with cerebral palsy in Ghana; her work aims to provide insight into how Ghana and other regions, including northern B.C., can better support caregivers.

Northern voices lead energy conversations

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø Faculty of Environment Assistant Professor Dr. Sinead Earley and colleagues at the University of Victoria are leading transformative clean energy research through the Northern Regional Energy Dialogues (NRED). The five-year project expands on Earley's previous work to amplify northern voices and aims to strengthen community resilience, support community energy systems and enhance long-term economic stability throughout the region.

Research and community come together through Sahtú Dene and ÂÜÀòÉäÇø collaboration

A partnership between ÂÜÀòÉäÇø and the Sahtú Land and Water Board is supporting oilfield reclamation guided by Sahtú Dene knowledge. ÂÜÀòÉäÇø alumna Annie King is playing a key role in the research through her work in community engagement.

Dr. Shannon Freeman honoured for research contributions to aging and palliative care

The Associate Professor in ÂÜÀòÉäÇø's School of Nursing is the recipient of a King Charles III's Coronation Medal for her impactful research and advocacy in the fields of aging and hospice palliative care in rural and northern communities.
