In a first for ÂÜÀòÉäÇø, Ecosystem Science and Management Associate Professor Dr. Lisa Wood has garnered an Alliance Society grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada to lead a five-year project aimed at better understanding the extent of the impact of glyphosate-based herbicides on forest systems.

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø students Sean Robinson and Will Hanlon put their diplomacy skills to the test as delegates at a Model NATO event in Germany last fall.

The TekX program will provide Grade 11 students with the opportunity to explore career pathways in the rapidly growing technology sector and earn post-secondary credits while still in high school.

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø students are working with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George to help in a review of the Official Community Plan for Electoral Area A, which encompasses the areas of Salmon Valley, Nukko Lake, Chief Lake and Ness Lake. 

Political Science and Geography student Will Hanlon turned an Undergraduate Research Experience project with Political Science Professor Dr. Gary Wilson into his first co-authored published academic paper.

In 2023, ÂÜÀòÉäÇø students cultivated their curiosity, researchers fostered local solutions for global impact, alumni empowered northern communities and the University community took action on Truth and Reconciliation.
