HRI Connect, a new ÂÜÀòÉäÇø Health Research Institute databank developed by ÂÜÀòÉäÇø Computer Science students, will enable northern health researchers to more easily find and connect with others who have similar interests, helping to further health innovation in the region. The portal is also the first major production deployment in the cloud for the University.

Elders, family, friends and supporters gathered to cheer on students graduating from ÂÜÀòÉäÇø’s Northwest campus during a graduation ceremony at the R.E.M. Lee Theatre in Terrace.

Geography Associate Professor Dr. Tristan Pearce is leading an international study linking climate change, food systems, and health on Indigenous communities around the world.

Students, faculty and staff will gather to acknowledge and honour the hard work, dedication and perseverance of graduating students at University events planned throughout northern B.C. from May 31 to June 7.

The breadth and depth of experiences that came with pursing a Bachelor of Arts degree at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø ignited a passion in Will Hanlon that he plans to carry forward into law school in September. Hanlon will reflect on drawing strength and resiliency from community in his valedictory address to classmates during Ceremony 2 of ÂÜÀòÉäÇø’s 2024 Convocation.

Drawn to ÂÜÀòÉäÇø by the opportunity for a well-rounded education in Health Sciences, Behrouz Danesh’s future goals include improving healthcare access and quality in the region as an occupational therapist. In delivering the Valedictory address to classmates during Ceremony 1 of ÂÜÀòÉäÇø’s 2024 Convocation, Danesh will speak to the power of community to create meaningful change.

The retiring faculty members were celebrated at a special event acknowledging their outstanding contributions as educators, researchers and experts in their fields of study.

Thanks to funding through Mitacs, three ÂÜÀòÉäÇø students will be travelling internationally to work on research projects with expert faculty.

From his roots in Anahim Lake to the heights of hockey fame with the Montreal Canadiens and Team Canada, goaltender Carey Price has captivated fans around the world. He is also a difference maker off the ice, sharing his story and support to inspire and uplift Indigenous youth across the country.
