Dr. Tristan Pearce, Associate Professor in the Department of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø, has been reappointed as a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Cumulative Impacts of Environmental Change.

Students, faculty, staff, outside experts and community members came together to look at ways to bolster community resilience in an event called 'Wildfire Friday'.

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø’s commitment to sustainability is highlighted in The Commonwealth at 75, a publication marking the Commonwealth’s anniversary.

Global and International Studies Assistant Professor Dr. Luna K C has been awarded a $50,000 Mobilizing Insights in Defence and Security (MINDS) Grant for an innovative research initiative aimed at combatting online gender-based violence.

Sustainable fish populations depend on resilient ecosystems. With climate change, habitat loss and other environmental pressures posing significant threats to both fish stocks and their habitats, researchers at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø’s Quesnel River Research Centre (QRRC) are working to understand the impacts of those pressures on salmon and develop strategies to preserve salmon species for future generations.

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø celebrated the promotion of 15 faculty members, including Dr. Indrani Margolin and Dr. Caroline Sanders, who have achieved the rank of full professor.

The ÂÜÀòÉäÇø Community came together for a discussion on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action. Dr. Daniel Sims discussed ÂÜÀòÉäÇø’s progress, followed by a panel that highlighted non-Indigenous responsibilities in advancing reconciliation.

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø received high marks in categories related to faculty excellence, research funding and investments in key areas like student services as part of its second overall finish in the Primarily Undergraduate category

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø achieved its highest scores in three of the five categories that make up the annual Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
