Northern Medical Program researcher Dr. Kendra Furber has been named a 2021 MSFHR Scholar; the award, which recognizes early career health researchers, will support her work on investigating the biology of the myelin sheath in the brain.

Nenachalhuya – The Cedar Plank Project is now on display in Lhuhuhwhezdel: Gathering Place at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø's Prince George campus. Artist Clayton Gauthier hand-carved and hand-painted 32 cedar planks with submitted logos from 32 nations across northern B.C.

Dr. Peter Bentley served ÂÜÀòÉäÇø as its Chancellor and was a long-time supporter of ÂÜÀòÉäÇø through his generous philanthropy. Dr. Bentley passed away on Sept. 6, 2021.

This fall, ÂÜÀòÉäÇø researchers will be in the field studying Pineapple Express storms in the Coast Mountains. These atmospheric rivers bring heavy doses of rain and snow to the region. This first-of-its-kind experiment in Canada is part of the NSERC/Rio Tinto Industrial Research Chair in Climate Change and Water Security project.

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø researcher Dr. Phil Burton took part in an international study examining the estimated global contributions of deadwood decomposition to carbon dioxide emissions. The team's research was published in the journal Nature.

ÂÜÀòÉäÇø's saw its scores increase in all categories, with significant increases in both the teaching and research pillars, in the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

For 25 years, Kelly Thirkettle has worked with the team of early childhood educators at the ÂÜÀòÉäÇø Childcare Centre to provide a warm, nurturing and safe environment where children learn to respect themselves, others, and their environment.
