When a Research Ambassador encouraged undergraduate student Ahmad Jalil to pursue his research interests by just reaching out to a professor in his field of interest, the Bachelor of Health Sciences student felt he might lack the skills required. His interest soon outweighed his hesitancy and he's recently submitted a manuscript for journal review based on his research with ÂÜÀòÉäÇø's Northern Analytical Laboratory Services.

Learning from the Elders that water is the most precious of the four elements, Dr. Darlene Sanderson's professional and academic pursuits have focused on caring for and protecting waterways. Recently appointed Dr. Donald B. Rix Leadership Chair for Indigenous Environmental Health at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø, Sanderson will join with community-based researchers from Tl’etinqox and Qwelmínte Secwépemc Nations as the keynote presentation on Monday, launching Research Week at our Prince George campus.

A strong sense of community is important to Daleiah Barker. As president of the Afro-Caribbean Student Association at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø, Barker sees events that promote a deeper understanding of the different cultural backgrounds of our students, faculty and staff as a critical way to strengthen our community on campus.

Joyce Henley provides specialized counselling services to students from Indigenous, Black and People of Colour backgrounds. She brings her own experience as a biracial person with an African-American father and white mother to her role.

Not only did the team captains generate enough interest for ÂÜÀòÉäÇø to send 10 teams to the 2023 JDC West Competition in January, but the delegation captured four trophies at the three-day event which attracts the top business students from across Western Canada.

CUPE 2278 and ÂÜÀòÉäÇø ratified a three-year collective agreement consistent with the Shared Recovery mandate.

The Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program at ÂÜÀòÉäÇø is expanding with a new location in Prince George that will start in September 2023.
